To complement this frontier-inspired cooking is an interactive show filled with singing, dancing, and good laughs that you and the family won’t soon forget.
Sit and stay a while at Crockett’s Tavern, a cozy speakeasy-themed restaurant that features craft cocktails and fresh plates of sliders, chicken bites, flatbreads, and more.
Head to the Trail End’s Restaurant for a great assortment of grab-and-go bites, steaming dishes, such as pizza, chicken nuggets, barbecue sandwiches, and more, as well as custom coffees and a menu of cold drinks.
You’ll find The Chuck Wagon near the Settlement Trading Post. Stop in for hearty burgers, hot dogs, crispy chicken nuggets, and more whenever you start to get those classic cravings after a day at the park.
The Meadow Snack Bar is perfect for a quick bite while splashing at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool. Choose from fresh salads, light bites, and classic sandwiches, then get back to enjoying the Florida sunshine.
All renovated Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort are private, one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabins that sleep up to six guests total. The single bedroom features a queen-sized bed and a twin-sized bunk bed, while the living room boasts a queen-sized pull-down couch that can be stored away during the day to give everyone a bit more space. Whip up a homecooked meal in the full kitchen, and gather around the dining table for a family dinner. There’s plenty of room to cozy up on the couch in living room for a movie night, as well. These cabins also feature spacious front porches, each complete with patio furniture and a barbecue grill. With all-new modern comforts and conveniences, you and yours are sure to fall in love with Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
There are two pools on-site the Fort Wilderness property: Meadow Swimmin’ Pool & Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool features a 67-foot corkscrew waterslide, as well as a whirlpool spa, fort-themed water play area, and miniature slides for the little ones. You’ll also find plenty of loungers for sunbathing. Moreover, the Meadow Pool often features poolside activities, including pool parties, themed pool games, trivia, and more. The Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool is a smaller pool available to all ages; it also features a whirlpool spa.
This old-fashioned ranch is home to numerous horses and ponies, often seen grazing the green pastures during the day. So, stop by to schedule a trail ride, carriage ride, or pony ride through scenic nature trails on the property.
Access Magic Kingdom with Disney’s Water Transportation across the Seven Seas Lagoon; you’ll be there in no time. You may also catch a ride on the Disney Bus Transportation, a complimentary service, across Fort Wilderness, to Disney Springs, or to the Disney theme parks. The pick-up spot is at the Outpost Depot. Minnie Van service is also available at an extra charge for travel within the Walt Disney Resort.
Fort Wilderness is your hub for fun in the outdoors. Rent kayaks and canoes to paddle through serene waterways and lagoons. Or, book a guided fishing excursion to catch some bass and spend an afternoon on the water. You’ll also find bike rentals and jogging trails so you can get some exercise and enjoy the Florida weather in downtime. Other outdoor amenities and activities include playgrounds, volleyball, basketball courts, an archery experience, and even a Wilderness Back Trail Adventure, featuring an all-terrain adventure on a segway vehicle.
Like many other DVC resorts, Fort Wilderness features nightly Movies Under the Stars, located at the Campground Theater at 7:40 p.m. So, cuddle up with some popcorn to watch your favorite Disney classics. Moreover, indulge in a sweet treat around the campfire at Chip ‘N’ Dales Campfire Sing-A-Long. This takes place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each night, also at the Campground Theater.
Last but not least, you can practice your skills at two arcades on-site: Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade, located near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, and the Davy Crockett’s Wilderness Arcade, located at Pioneer Hall. Try your hand at pinball and classic arcade games, as well as billiards and ping pong, until a new champion is declared.
When you stay at a DVC resort, magic is around every corner—and not just at Fort Wilderness. Of course, guests enjoy easy access to all the Disney theme parks, but that’s not all. The famous Disney Springs is just a short ride away. This bustling plaza is full of dazzling shopping, dining, and entertainment, fit for the whole family. Not to mention, it’s home to the world’s largest Disney retail store. Outside of Disney excitement, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, and affiliated water parks are all within 25 minutes from Fort Wilderness. I-Drive and Icon Park are also nearby and are home to attractions like the StarFlyer, Sea Life Aquarium, WonderWorks, and countless restaurants and shops.
